VLA offers a variety of programs and workshops, which are listed below. We also offer a selection of on-demand, online recordings of previously held education programs for those unable to attend or want a refresher. Click here to access and view these presentations.
VLA is proud to present its popular series of free classes targeted to artists, students and practicing attorneys. The classes will be taught by current law school students.
This class will provide an overview of the right of publicity in the state of New York. This information will be useful to artists who are looking to use the life story of another individual in their work. The class will also cover a potential change in the law as the New York State Legislature is currently considering a bill that would expand New York’s right of publicity, making it a property right that can be passed down to your heirs. Artists who are currently using or considering using the life story of another individual in their work are encouraged to attend.
