This class will focus on recent copyright infringement issues in the music industry. The class will take musicians through a framework of the fundamental aspects of copyrights law, including the types of copyrights granted to an artist for a protectable work, copyright infringement analysis, and available defenses. It will also illustrate the application of copyright law with high-profile litigation cases.
