This workshop will provide an overview of legal issues in the fashion industry, including design protection and enforcement, commercial operations and agreements, and the rise of digital marketing.
This course is for designers, brands, and professionals to understand the path that fashion law has taken. It will begin with the history of intellectual property law in fashion and why copyright protection in the fashion industry is more limited than in other artistic industries. It will then provide a brief overview of the most common legal issues in fashion, touching on copyright, trademark and contractual matters. Lastly, this course will conclude by exploring developing issues in fashion law, such as endorsement disclosures and trademarks in the Metaverse.
