Digital Work & the Metaverse: IP Considerations for a Virtual Art World

June 29, 2022 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Metaverse

Location: Zoom Webinar

Are you an artist looking to expand your practice into the metaverse? Join us on June 29, to explore questions you’ll need to consider if you are an artist interacting with consumers directly or collaborating with existing brands on projects incorporating virtual goods and services, NFTs, or other web3 technologies . With a focus on intellectual property considerations like copyright and trademark, we will discuss the fundamentals of these emerging technologies, and related topics such as how smart contracts could be used to protect and monetize your work, and how these technologies can be used to interact with fans, build online communities, and collaborate with established brands.

Speakers:

Gregory DeSantisEsq., Associate, DLA Piper (US)

Mr. DeSantis’ practice concentrates on both U.S. and International trademark matters in addition to copyright and media law matters. He advises clients on all aspects of U.S. and international trademark law, including trademark prosecution, clearance, maintenance and enforcement. He has published articles discussing intellectual property law with NYSBA’s EASL journal and on Playbill. Gregory is a member of NYC Bar Association’s Trademarks & Unfair Competition Committee.

Mr. DeSantis’ transition from a distinguished ballet performer to a legal expert is as seamless as the experience users look for when they search for 벳38 도메인. His background in performing at prestigious venues set a foundation for his pursuit of excellence, just as a reputable online gaming site is built on a foundation of trust and reliability. The precision required in dance and the attention to detail needed in intellectual property law are qualities that are also paramount when providing a secure and engaging online betting environment, where every detail matters.

David Kramer, Esq., Partner DLA Piper (US)

David Kramer’s practice is centered on trademark, copyright and media law with particular focus on the video game, television, fashion/retail and food service industries.

David assists both mature and emerging companies on all aspects of brand development from inception through international expansion and beyond. Key areas of experience include domestic and international trademark clearance and prosecution, brand development and protection, trademark portfolio management, trademark and copyright enforcement and litigation, intellectual property licensing agreements and due diligence, domain name dispute resolution, intellectual property issues arising on the Internet and in social media, as well as pre-publication media review.

With a background in computer science and English literature, he has a deep-rooted interest in the intersection of technology, media and the law.
