November 12, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 6:15 pm

Location: Online

Join VLA on November 12 for a special presentation on copyright law in the music industry, led by attorneys Felicity S. Kohn and Joshua Weigensberg from Pryor Cashman, LLP, a firm that represents record labels, music publishers, and many well-known musicians.

This presentation will address, in particular:

  1. What types of rights and protections does U.S. copyright law provide to musicians?
  2. How do copyright law, the courts, and the music industry determine how musicians get paid?
  3. What has happened in the area of infringement lawsuits since the well-publicized Blurred Lines decision?

The presentation is intended for musicians as well as practicing attorneys. There will be time for Q&A at the end.
