What are moral rights? Does an artist have a right to control the way their artwork is displayed? What is a work of “recognized stature”? Join us on July 20 for a discussion on the Visual Artists Rights Act of 1990 (VARA). In this class, we will focus on what kinds of work the law applies to, what personal rights creators have in their work, and when you might be in danger of giving up your rights. From street art to large-scale public art commissions, we will explore this topic through real-life examples of artists who attempted to enforce personal rights in their work.
