Kashish Shamsi

Kashish is a Legal Fellow at VLA. She graduated cum laude from Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science in Music Industry and a minor in Business Administration.

Before law school, she worked and interned across the music and entertainment industries at United Talent Agency, KIDZ BOP, Sony Music, Musebox, and MTV World. In these roles, she saw firsthand how creative ideas are developed, negotiated, and ultimately protected.

Kashish received her Juris Doctor and a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Brooklyn Law School in May 2026. During her time at Brooklyn Law School, she was a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Honor Society, Music Chair of the Brooklyn Entertainment and Sports Law Society, and an Editor and Contributor for the Brooklyn Sports and Entertainment Law Blog. She also interned at boutique firms focused primarily on copyright and trademark matters.

A classically trained singer, Kashish is an alumna of Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. Having navigated the music industry as an artist herself, she understands how much access to legal support can shape a creative career. She is passionate about music and pop culture, and about ensuring that artists have the legal resources they need to protect their work and thrive.

Outside of work, you can find Kashish trying new restaurants around the city, playing tennis, or singing along to whatever’s on her playlist.
