Mr. Davis is a meticulous and determined trial lawyer, who has litigated entertainment and commercial cases over the past 35 years.
Mr. Davis has extensive trial and appellate experience in the state and federal courts of New York and is often selected to represent clients in courts throughout the country. Among his clients are major and independent record labels, music publishers, film and fashion companies, high-profile executives, and A-list celebrities in the music, television, and film industries.
He has served as lead counsel in cases involving a variety of issues, including copyright and trademark infringement, privacy and right of publicity issues, unfair competition, fraud and misrepresentation, intentional torts, and commercial disputes.
Before establishing Jonathan D. Davis, P.C. in 1993, Mr. Davis practiced law at a full-service New York law firm and at Gold, Farrell & Marks, a highly respected boutique entertainment litigation firm.
Mr. Davis has received AV Peer Review recognition by Martindale-Hubbell for over two decades. Since 2010, he has been selected as a Super Lawyer for the New York Metro Area each year. And in 2013, Mr. Davis was inducted as a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America, the trial lawyer honorary society. He has served on the Committee on Professional Ethics for the New York County Lawyers’ Association. Mr. Davis writes and lectures on copyright and litigation issues. Mr. Davis serves on the Board of Directors for the Children’s Cancer & Blood Foundation, which supports the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center.
