Emma is VLA’s Legal Services Coordinator. Prior to joining VLA, Emma worked in litigation in Sydney, Australia. She received her Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Sydney. Emma was awarded First Class Honors in art history for her undergraduate thesis, Bernhard Heisig: Painting in East Germany (1945-1990), for which Emma translated all primary source material from the original German. During law school, Emma was an Aurora Fellow and Articles Editor of the Sydney University Social Justice Journal. Additionally, she has completed a Short Course in Film Production at the Australian Film, Television & Radio School (AFTRS), Australia’s national screen arts and broadcast school.
Emma is a member of the New York State Bar Association (Member, Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law Section) and is admitted to practice law in New York and New South Wales, Australia. Emma has worked with both the Tribeca Film Festival and IFP Film Week. Before relocating to New York, Emma performed Carmina Burana with the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs at the Sydney Opera House.
