Darren J. Schmidt is Associate General Counsel and Global Head of Record Label Licensing at Spotify, where he leads the team responsible for agreements with hundreds of record labels supplying content across 184 countries. He has spent over two decades advising on issues critical to the music industry, including time at Universal Music Group and earlier at Jenner & Block. Darren earned his B.A. (Philosophy, Psychology, and Religious Studies) from Indiana University and his J.D. from Columbia Law School. He lives in Brooklyn.
