This class will cover the right of publicity in New York, which is an individual’s right to control the commercial use of their likeness. We will discuss how the right of publicity has evolved in New York, what rights public and private figures have over their name, image, likeness, and voice, and what artists need to be aware of when creating works that depict real people.
