Preserving Your History: Legacy Planning and Archiving for Artists

July 18, 2019 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

As an artist, your work is your legacy, but how do you make sure that your legacy survives after you’re gone?

Using two initiatives, ART CART: Saving the Legacy and The Performing Arts Legacy project that document and represent older visual and performing artists’ legacies, Joan Jeffri, Director and Founder of the Research Center for Arts and Culture at The Actors Fund, will discuss how aging artists manage, chronicle and continue their creative work as they plan (or don’t) for end-of-life.

Learn the realities and legal issues faced by aging artists and performers, including obtaining wills and estate plans, and the tools available to help artists not only preserve their own history, but also protect their important piece of our nation’s cultural identity.
