Personal managers and talent agents can have a major impact on the careers of artists, helping them to cultivate a brand and connecting them to professional opportunities. This course will introduce artists to the fundamentals of these roles, exploring the differences between managers and agents, the ways that each can help advance an artistic career, and key issues to consider when negotiating a contract with representation. By the end of the workshop, artists will have a better sense of what representation might be right for them and the contractual provisions that can help them get the most out of the artist and representation relationship.
