VLA is proud to present its popular series of free classes targeted to artists, students and practicing attorneys. The classes will be taught by current law school students.
Many popular musical hits were made famous by artists who re-recorded a song that was first recorded by someone else. From artists like Beyoncé to the Beatles, and songs like “I Will Always Love You,” to “Twist and Shout,” we learn that cover songs can be just as (if not more) valuable to the music industry, as the originals on which they are based. Whether you are just starting out, or you are an established cover band, it is important for all musical artists to know the legal issues around music covers. Join us on March 23, when we will discuss the various legal rights in a musical work, and the permissions required to record and perform cover songs.
This program will be held as a free online webinar. Please make sure to register ahead of time in order to access the course.
