As a creator and artist, your intellectual property is one of your most valuable assets, though it’s probably also one of the most misunderstood. Through this course, you will learn the basics of copyright law, what is does and does not cover, issues in copyright ownership, and steps you can take to prevent (or address) copyright infringement of your work. If you’ve ever wondered what it means to share copyright with a co-author, if you should register your copyrights, or whether you can protect an artistic method, this class is for you!
This program will be taught by VLA Staff Attorney Laura Levin-Dando.
When: Thursday, August 8th, 5 – 6:30 PM
Where: VLA Auditorium, 1 East 53rd Street, New York, NY 10022
