Alternative Fundraising: Legal Implications of Online Crowdfunding
November 30, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Event Navigation

VLA is proud to present its popular series of free classes targeted to artists, students and practicing attorneys. The classes will be taught by current law school students.
Online crowdfunding can be a great way to connect with supporters, but it also comes with legal risks. What happens if you fail to reach your advertised goals? And what kind of information do you need to disclose in your campaign? Join us on Friday, November 30th to learn about how you can navigate these questions (and others!) to effectively raise money through websites like Patreon, GoFundMe, and Kickstarter. This class is great for those looking to crowdfund their work, as well as anyone interested in learning more about this exciting new intersection of art, law, and technology.
