Trademark Basics for Artists

Have you ever wondered what a trademark is? Or how to establish and maintain trademark rights? This class will provide an overview of trademark law in the United States and will discuss how to establish trademark use, filing your trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and maintaining and protecting your trademark rights.

This class will be taught by Erika Stallings, Esq., VLA Associate Board Member.

Erika Stallings is an associate in Kelley Drye & Warren LLP’s New York office and a member of the Intellectual Property practice group. Erika advises clients on trademark portfolio and brand management, including clearance opinions, trademark registration and maintenance, opposition/cancellation proceedings, settlement and coexistence agreements and online enforcement strategies. Her clients include companies from the consumer and personal care, media and entertainment and various other industries.
