Reece Walter is excited to be returning to VLA as a Legal Fellow and to continue serving the artists and arts organizations of New York. She graduated from Columbia Law School with her Juris Doctor in May of 2025. Reece is particularly passionate about contracts and copyright law, having focused on both during her time at law school, especially as a Teaching Assistant for Contracts, the Arts and Entertainment Externship, and the In-House Counsel Externship. Her prior legal internships with NPR and Meow Wolf focused on intellectual property protection, licensing, and fair use analysis.
Before law school, Reece graduated from the University of Texas with her B.A. as a Psychology and Sociology double major with a minor in Business. Outside of VLA, Reece is a professional bartender and self-proclaimed mediocre Dungeons & Dragons player. While her childhood dreams of being an animator did not pan out, she still closely follows the latest news in cartoons and video games.
