J. Colby Van Horn is Intellectual Property Counsel - Director of Intellectual Property at PAVmed Inc. Previously, he was an Associate at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP. J. Colby Van Horn’s practice focuses on patent, copyright, and trade secret matters, including litigation, intellectual property portfolio management, patent prosecution both domestically and internationally, licensing, opinion work, and due diligence concerning potential acquisitions and divestitures. Mr. Van Horn has represented clients concerning a broad range of technologies, including commercial software applications, microelectronics, dermatological treatment devices, wireless communications, sporting equipment, consumer electronics, as well as in vivo medical devices. During and after law school, Mr. Van Horn worked for IBM as a member of IBM’s Intellectual Property Center, where he specialized in patent drafting and prosecution, as well as patent acquisitions and divestitures, and as a member of IBM’s copyright clearance team concerning software authorship and licensing.
