Ariel E. Phillips

Ariel is the Development Director for VLA. She manages all fundraising efforts for the organization.

Ariel has spent her career working in support of artists in New York City. Most recently, she was Director of Development & Administration at Spaceworks NYC, a nonprofit developer of creative workspace. Prior to Spaceworks, she was Director of Development at Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC). At LMCC, she raised resources from public and private stakeholders across industries to provide artists with studio residencies, grants, and professional development and to present free public programming. Before LMCC, she worked at the contemporary art gallery Alexander and Bonin. Ariel holds a BA from Yale University and a MA from NYU’s Institute of Fine Arts, both in Art History.
