Ben Henderson - Hurricane Sandy Slams NYC

Volunteer

To volunteer for a case from the Case List, we require that attorneys attend an hour long orientation. At the orientation you will learn important information about our programs, volunteer requirements and administrative procedures. Due to increased demand, we now run two monthly orientations, typically Monday evenings and Wednesdays at noon.

Requirements

  • All volunteer attorneys MUST be covered by their own, or their employer’s, legal malpractice insurance for volunteer work performed through VLA.
  • Attorneys who have been admitted to practice for less than 3 years must have a supervising attorney who has been admitted to practice for longer than 3 years. Volunteers are responsible for securing their own supervising attorney.
