Get the most recent updates to the Freelance Isn’t Free Act! \n\n\n\n\nABOUT: \nThis class will cover the New York City Freelance Isn’t Free Act and the New York State Freelance Isn’t Free Act\, which both protect independent contractors when individuals and companies that hired them fail to pay for the work performed. We will discuss what rights independent contractors are afforded under these laws\, how courts have interpreted these laws since their implementation\, and different ways workers can use these laws to protect themselves. \nContinuing Legal Education Credits: 1.5 Continuing Legal Education Professional Practice credits for attorneys (approved for Non-Transitional and Transitional Attorneys). \nPlease note that if you wish to receive CLE credit\, you must purchase an attorney ticket (Legal Professional Non-Member or Legal Professional Member). \nInstructor: Jenny Brejt\, Attorney at Virginia & Ambinder\, LLP \nJenny Brejt is an Associate at Virginia & Ambinder LLP in New York. In addition\, Jenny served as a judicial intern for the Hon.
