This class will provide an overview of trademark law in the United States and will discuss how to establish a trademark, how to obtain a federal trademark registration through the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and how to maintain and protect your trademark rights.

About the instructor
Erika Stallings is an attorney at Broadcast Music, Inc. where she handles all legal issues relating to BMI’s affiliated songwriters and publishers. Prior to joining BMI, she worked in private practice handling intellectual property litigation matters and trademark clearance, prosecution, and enforcement issues. She is a 2010 graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and a 2007 graduate of University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
