Legal Essentials for Street Photography in NYC

Ever snap a quick photograph of an iconic NYC building, a parade marching down Fifth Avenue, or an eccentric individual on the subway? If yes, this course, which provides an overview of how federal and New York state law treats street photography, is for you! We will discuss how the law distinguishes different types of street photography depending on where the image is taken, what to do if approached by law enforcement while photographing, and the ins-and-outs of distributing street photography in commercial contexts. Additionally, we will provide a brief overview of special considerations for videotaping in public.
