Fundamentals of Theater and Intellectual Property Law (CLE)

This class will introduce the fundamentals of intellectual property law through famous lawsuits and recent incidents from Broadway and the theater world. Topics to be discussed will include copyright and trademark infringement, fair use, parody, work for hire, originality, licensing, and the right of publicity.

This program provides 1.5 Professional Practice Continuing Legal Education Credit for attorneys (Approved for Non-Transitional and Transitional Attorneys).

Matthew Windman is an associate focused on corporate, securities, and business transactions law.

Prior to joining McCarter & English, Matthew worked at a law firm in New York City where he represented municipal corporations and private entities in all aspects of pre-trial litigation and managed complex cases involving class action claims, mass torts, insurance coverage, product liability, environmental law, and defamation.
