Are you a visual artist wondering if and when you can incorporate copyrighted material into your artwork?
There are certain circumstances where the limited, “fair use” of copyrighted material may be permitted and may not constitute copyright infringement. This course will provide visual artists with an overview of copyright, infringement, and the fair use defense. We will also cover recent developments in this area of law, such as those from the highly-publicized case Cariou v. Prince.
This class will be taught by Betsy Dale, Esq., VLA Staff Attorney.
