Learn how art and creative assets intersect with trusts & estate planning with attorneys Sasha Herzig and Samuel Dangremond.
This CLE program explores the unique estate planning challenges and opportunities faced by artists and art collectors. The course will provide an overview of key estate planning documents and how they provide protection and guidance for issues such as valuation, charitable planning involving art, and strategies for transferring art during life or at death. Attendees will learn planning techniques that help preserve artistic legacies while minimizing tax exposure and administrative complications. This program is designed for estate planning practitioners, art market professionals, and artists seeking a clearer understanding of how art and creative assets intersect with estate planning. A brief Q&A session will follow the presentation to address participant questions.

Instructor:
Sasha Herzig, Director in Trusts & Estates @ Bonhams
Sasha Herzig is a Director in the Trusts & Estates department at Bonham’s New York office. Having over 13 years of experience in estate planning, fiduciary strategy, and wealth management, she is a licenced attorney and member of the New York State Bar Association. Sasha began her career as a trusts and estates attorney advising ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families on sophisticated estate, trust, and charitable planning strategies. She later transitioned into wealth management, first serving as a Fiduciary Strategist, where she aligned clients’ estate plans with their long-term objectives. Most recently, she held the role of Consulting Director, working on complex transactions and identifying tailored opportunities to preserve and grow wealth.
Sasha holds a Juris Doctorate from the City University of New York School of Law and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Women’s Studies from the University at Albany, SUNY. She is currently completing her Master’s degree in Art Market Studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology. She is an Associate Board Member with Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, a Member of the Advisory Council with the American Heart Association, and a Member of both the Trusts & Estates and Entertainment, Arts & Sports Law Committees with the New York State Bar Association.
Samuel Dangremond, Attorney @ Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP
Samuel Dangremond is an Associate at Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP in New York and a member of the firm’s Trusts and Estates and Private Client groups. His practice focuses on trust and estate planning for high-net-worth individuals and families, as well as trust and estate administration. He advises clients on wealth transfer strategies, multigenerational planning, and charitable planning.
Sam is active in the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Trust and Estate Law (RPTE) Section, where he serves as a Fellow and has published articles on estate planning topics. He also maintains an active pro bono practice and serves as a member of the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts Associate Board. He received his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, his M.B.A. from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business, and his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania. He is admitted to practice in New York, Connecticut, and Florida.
