Social Media & the DMCA: Copyright Protection for the Internet Era

November 15, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

VLA is proud to present its popular series of free classes targeted to artists, students and practicing attorneys. The classes will be taught by current law school students.

The Internet’s great. It connects, informs, and makes it possible to share your work across the far reaches of the globe. Unfortunately, you’re not always the person sharing your work. That’s where the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) comes in. Join VLA to learn about Title II of the DMCA and how it works to address copyright infringement on social media. We will discuss how the DMCA allows you to protect your work online, and we will also address what you can do if you find yourself on the receiving end of a takedown notice.
