Copyright Essentials for Musicians

July 30 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Location: Zoom Webinar

As a musician, knowing how to protect your work properly is essential to getting compensated. This class will provide an overview of the difference between music copyright and sound recording copyright, as well as how to register your copyright as an artist. Together, we will go over how you can ensure your work is protected so you can focus on being creative.

Instructors: VLA Legal Externs (Jessica Jilla and Saru Kalva)

For a deeper understanding of copyright fundamentals, join VLA Executive Director Katie Wagner next week for the CLE course Copyright Basics: Current Answers to Deceptively Simple Legal Questions. The class will include a Q&A session—you’re welcome to submit questions in advance.

Membership Discount Code: For members, please contact registrations@vlany.org to receive your discount code, which will allow you to view and purchase the ticket.
