Deirdre M. McDonald

Deirdre McDonald is the Executive Vice President, Global Public Policy and Government Relations, Sony Music Entertainment.  In this role, Deirdre helps to plan and implement strategic initiatives in the areas of legislation, regulation, and policy on a worldwide basis.  She acts as her company’s liaison to legislative bodies, governmental agencies and music industry trade organizations, including the International Federation of Phonographic Industries (IFPI) and the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on whose boards she sits.

From 1998 to 2003, and prior to Sony Music’s merger with BMG Entertainment, Deirdre was BMG’s chief litigation counsel.  She began her legal career at White & Case in 1989, where she specialized in commercial litigation and international arbitration.
