Independent Contractors in the Music Industry

April 19, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

VLA is proud to present its popular series of free classes targeted to artists, students and practicing attorneys. The classes will be taught by current law school students.

Are you a musician, producer, mixer, etc. who frequently works with other artists or studios? You may be an independent contractor! What’s the difference between an employee & an independent contractor? What are you entitled to as an independent contractor? How do you protect your work when using independent contractors? Our class will teach you both about your rights as an independent contractor and rights as a musician using independent contractors when creating & performing original works.
